Hey! I hope you are excited to see the actual stuff that I made for this week. After a little break for you (not me), it’s time to get this show on the road. I’ve been working on this one animated video for a while now (specifically, the past two weeks) and I love how it turned out! Again, it was inspired by Maddi Winter and I was able to include some more complicated and fast-paced animations.
Here is my original video! It’s just the dance, no animations.
This dance by itself was hard to learn and to be completely
honest, it took me SO many tries. I took maybe like 15 takes until I got it close
to how I wanted it.
My STACKED drafts :(
The end animation:
In total, I worked about 16-17 hours on this. (Clearly, since it took me over two weeks!) Some things that I wanted to work on and change from last week’s animation to this weeks were the timing of the frames and interaction.
For context, here is the one I made last week:
As you can see, the video looks choppy and more like a stop-motion
as opposed to a smooth animation. This week, however, I succeeded in remembering,
and increased the number of frames per second to 20 as opposed to 13. Of
course, this took more work and drawing, but it was a success in the end.
I also wanted to have more interaction with the animations themselves.
First, I planned out what I was going to animate and then tweaked the dance steps
afterward to correspond with the animations. This was a HUGE change, as I always
used to film the dance first and try to come up with animations after. The original
video looks a bit weird, and it is clear it wasn’t made to stand alone (the holding
‘nothing’ at the beginning and pointing to the corners of the sky).
ALSO!!! Mr. McDaniels had a great idea to message Maddi Winter and ask her to answer some questions for my blog. Of course, I had to do this so I DMed her! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a response :( Still, it was definitely worth a try since we all love her so much.
Anyway, thanks for coming! See you later 😉
PELIN oh my goodness.
