Week 8 - Hailey the Bloblott (5/21)

 

Welcome back! Or should I say, hos geldiniz (Turkish tehe). This week has been pretty uneventful uneventful in the case of animating. As (I hope) most of you know, I’ve been trying to make an animation with an actual storyline – no matter how simple and rushed it may be, this was one of my goals and I am hoping to achieve it.

For my “a blob’s life” animation (not the actual name YET), this week I filmed a large number of videos, put them all together in iMovie, and began animating. The animations are short and simple, very much of a difference compared to my 15-second effect videos. I finished about one-third to half of the video, and currently am thinking it is okay. Not too good, not too bad.

Ten minute timelapse! You have NO IDEA how long it took to convert this 5-HOUR-long video into ten minutes 😭

I have also been trying to find this blob a name. What will name it, you may ask? Well, last week I sent out a Google Forms to anyone interested in contributing to the naming ceremony. I received some SPECTACULAR and quite intriguing submissions. Here are the names laid out for you. I covered several suggestions for safety purposes.

As you can see, these are quite lovely. I was stuck between Maura Pierlott, Hailey, and Bobby Bob the Blob. BUT after careful consideration, I chose “Hailey the Bloblott”. What an amazing name, am I right?

I will also be sharing another question I provided on this Google Forms. I hope you are not too emotional after seeing this.

Sooooo… yeah. There’s that. I know this week wasn’t too much fun, but I am hoping next week will, since I will finally finish my blob animation. Cya!

 

UPDATE!!!!!! I am so sorry to say this, but my animating has been cut short!!! This is unfortunately somewhat of a goodbye for us, until a final reflection post on the 7^th of June. I will still be helping Hailey the Bloblott come to life, even if it is not on this website 😊
